Removal and installation of a power shaft and reducer of the back bridge

 REMOVAL

1. Unscrew a nut of fastening (1) nave.

The nut is quite strongly tightened. Therefore for safety reasons a nut it is necessary to turn on at the car standing on wheels.

2. Mark with paint the provision of forward wheels in relation to a nave. Thanks to it the otbalansirovanny wheel will occupy the former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel on the standing car. Lift and establish the car on supports. Remove forward wheels.
3. Remove the driveshaft at a flange of the main transfer of the back bridge, address to the Section Removal and driveshaft installation.
4. Remove the back stabilizer. For this purpose unscrew nuts of fastening of the stabilizer at the left and on the right bars. Disconnect rubber support at a beam of a back suspension bracket and remove together with the stabilizer.

5. Unscrew bolts of fastening of power shafts to differential of the back bridge and remove power shafts (arrows on an accompanying illustration). Suspend power shafts to a body on a wire.

Do not lower power shafts down. Otherwise the external hinge of equal angular speeds is exposed to overloads.

6. Bring under a reducer of a back axis a garage jack with wooden laying.

7. Unscrew a nut.

8. Remove the main exhaust silencer, address to the Section Replacement of the main exhaust silencer.

9. Unscrew nuts on the right and at the left.

10. Lower a reducer of a back axis and separate it from a driveshaft flange.

11. Vypressuyte a power shaft from a wheel nave. Address to an accompanying illustration.

The corresponding stripper, for example is for this purpose necessary for BMW. The bridge of a stripper fastens two bolts to a nave of a wheel and the spindle is rolled against the stop in a power shaft.

12. Remove a power shaft.


 INSTALLATION

1. Establish a power shaft and suspend on a wire.
2. Enter a shaft the BMW tool, for example by means of a spindle 332 118 with a nut 332 115. For this purpose at first completely screw a spindle in the bridge. Screw a carving element on a spindle and a power shaft. On other party on a spindle screw a nut against the stop in the bridge. Thus, the power shaft is involved in a nave. Watch that before input of a shaft its shlitsa and nave grooves coincided.
3. Slightly oil and screw a nut with a fillet.
4. Insert a reducer of the back bridge and fix new being self-stopped nuts.
The moments of an inhaling are presented in Specifications.
5. Establish the main exhaust silencer, address to the Section Replacement of the main exhaust silencer.
6. Connect the driveshaft to a reducer of the back bridge, address to the Section Removal and driveshaft installation.
7. Connect a power shaft to a reducer of the back bridge and tighten bolts of fastening by a dinamometrichesky key. Do not forget to put podkladny plates. The moments of an inhaling depend on type of a bolt and its size and are presented in Specifications.
8. Remove a wire on which the power shaft was suspended.
9. Fix the stabilizer. Tighten nuts of fastening of bars the moment of 40 Nanometers.
10. Fix forward wheels. Bolts of fastening of wheels with oil do not grease. Establish wheels so that the markings put earlier coincided. Lower the car on wheels. Tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel cross-wise the moment of 100 Nanometers.
11. Slightly oil a nut with a fillet and tighten the moment given in Specifications.
12. Fix a nut with a fillet a raschekanka. For this purpose strike with an opravka on a nut fillet so that it entered into a groove of a power shaft.
13. Tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel cross-wise the moment of 100 Nanometers.
14. Check oil level in a reducer of the back bridge. If necessary add oil, address to the Section Replacement of lubricant liquid of differential.
