Check of electric motors

In the car there are many devices and the comfort devices which drive is carried out from small servomotors. Window regulators, the movable panel of the hatch of a roof, the uniform lock belong to such devices, for example. Turning on of electric motors is carried out via switches, in most cases manually.

 CHECK

1. Check a safety lock of the corresponding electric motor. If necessary replace it.

Electric motors of window regulators and drive of the movable panel of a roof have the safety machine gun which is switched off at an overload and after a while joins again. Before repeated turning on of the device it is necessary to eliminate the overload reason. The icing of glass or pollution directing glasses can be the reasons.

2. If the safety lock fuses at once, there is a short circuit.
3. To find out, whether the electric motor is damaged, attach to it two cables from the storage battery. A positive cable of the battery to positive contact of the electric motor, negative respectively to the negative.
Polarity can be determined by an electric circuit. There can be a need for electric motor removal. The supply voltage of all electric motors after removal the electric motor works at 12 — 14 V.Esli's car, malfunction was in a food.

With interruptions wear of brushes can be the reason of decrease in angular speed of the electric motor or its work. In this case it is necessary to replace brushes.

4. Check operation of the electric motor by means of the electroscheme. Check connection, a food wire.
5. Check a control lamp tension existence on a current carrying cable of the electric motor. The electric motor has a big consumed current. Therefore it is possible to apply the ordinary filament lamp to check. Such control lamp has usual tips with which it is possible to pierce a connecting cable. Thus it is possible to check tension existence rather simply.

Connecting plugs of the electric motor have the following designations:
The plug 32 — weight connection
The plug 33 — positive contact

Reversive electric motors, for example elktrodvigatel of window regulators, have two positive accessions. There are following designations:
The plug 33L — connection of the left rotation
The plug of 33 R — connection of the right rotation

The electric motor of a screen wiper has special designation of contacts, see appropriate section.

6. If tension on the electric motor is not present, the reason can be in a food wire. It is necessary to check a food wire according to the scheme. In a consequence of a big current electric motors have, as a rule, the additional relay of inclusion, see appropriate section
7. If malfunction was not found, check the switch.
8. If any cable is damaged, it is meaningful to replace it.
